[Image of two 3" x 3" canvases, showing the same view of the Norfolk broads on different days. One a sunny blue sky over a golden reed bed, the other a cloudy grey sky over a green reed bed.]

Humuhumu and I spent a week in Norfolk with her paternal grandparents. I did a bit of painting whilst I was there. These are two quick ones I did after walks along the dyke next to the River Waveney in the broads.

Thank you! I'm happier with the colour blending in the second, but because I was using such thin washes I didn't want to overwork the first one so I left it flawed.

Thanks! I enjoyed making them. They're certainly flawed, but as a friend of mine used to say, making art is an expression and the act itself should be pleasurable to you, whatever the outcome.

My grandparents lived not far from Downham Market, so I saw a lot of the fens while I was younger. Those definitely catch the atmosphere, especially the second for this time of year.

Hope everyone's feeling better today!

Oh wow! Cool! I think the second one is better from a technical standpoint as well, as I succeeded better with the colour blending. But I enjoyed making both.

Thank you for the good wishes. The bloke and I are recovered, but poor Humuhumu is still quite congested and now she's teething too. She's rallying well but it's a difficult time for her.
