In brief: 2 coats black ink on the engines. 3 thin washes royal blue on the solar panels, followed by 1 wash of black ink, 1 wash light blue, 1 wash royal blue and dry-brushing with white. Metallic silver on the gaps between panels. Top details received additional coats of metallic gold.

Oh yes, the trouble will be if folks can get close enough to pocket one. o_0 But now that I've crawled in & around your latest posts, I notice a few bits missing--where are the baby spacecrafts' whiskers? Can it be a proper kitty cat spacecraft w/o its feelers? O.O
It isn't quite right without its whiskers, no. Especially since the magnetometer (our instrument) is on the end of one of them! But we thought they would be too delicate & likely to get broken after being handled by hundreds of people.
