Goals for 2011, now 2012

ETA: I've decided to keep this as a rolling list of long-term goals.

I'm going to break my "New Year Resolutions must always be silly" rule this year, and actually put down some concrete goals for 2011 2012. I'm trying to break them down into bite-size, achievable steps so they get done. And I'm making this post sticky for two reasons: (a) I can easily update it as I achieve Things, and add new Things to Achieve and (b) so the goals, er, stick. *pause for collective groan*


  • Love boyfriend lots
  • Get a UK driving license
    • Apply for provisional license online (done 30/12/2010)
    • Buy DVDs for theory/hazard/practical tests (done 30/12/2010)
    • Look up driving instructors (done 30/04/2012)
    • Select driving instructor (done 01/05/2012)
    • Fill out provisional license application form (done 13/01/2011)
    • Get photos for provisional license application form (done 11/01/2011)
    • Submit provisional license application form (done 17/01/2011)
    • Book eye test (done 31/01/2011)
    • Get eye test (done 05/02/2011)
    • Get new glasses - prescription change meant this is necessary (done 05/02/2011)
    • Pick up new glasses & get them fitted (done 15/02/2011)

  • Go to the gym regularly

    • Ask about Tai Chi classes offered (done 31/12/2010 only Fri evenings, which off-peak membership doesn’t cover; try yoga & other classes - if dislike, find external Tai Chi class.)
    • Test gym for 3 months
