Shop Window

I saw this in a shop window in Copenhagen while wandering around by myself, and I stood in front of it for quite a while making little squeaky noises of happiness because there was no one else around. The shop was shut and the signs in the window were in Danish and contained only prices which were well out of my range (150,000 kroner, or ~£1500), so I don't know the identity of the artist. A Google search for "Danish sculptor of pillowy ladies" did not turn up what I was looking for. However, I'm content with the photo. It fills me with glee when I look at it. Quizzical tiny red frog! Contemplative pillowy lady! Joy!

It's wonderful. I love the gentle, inquiring intimacy between them.

I could have - if I had remembered the name of the shop or the street it was on! But I was too excited to write things down, so I forgot.

I find myself relating to the frog, in size and feeling.

The frog is essential to the intimate, lively feel of sculpture, despite its relative size. Without it, the figure would be rather sombre and brooding.
