Garden progress: Easter update [20100331|21:15]

The weather last week inspired further developments in the garden. It's now bursting with blooms from the bulbs we planted. I took some photos of the same ones depicted in my previous post in full flower as well as some of the other activity in our garden. The frogs, after their shameless mating display, have completely filled our pond with spawn.

Tulipa sp.

Hyacinth (confirmed!)

Narcissi & Tulipa

Puschkinia, fully open

Head gardener

Shameless frog spawning

Telstar "helping" with the weeding

Sputnik wondering why that bee didn't want to play

I'm hoping that once the bulbs have a couple of years to multiply, these beds will look amazing.

So is the shot of the bloke what the whole garden looks like? And is everything there covering bulbs? The flower shots turned out so pretty!

Yes, the shot of the bloke covers most of the garden except the veggie patch (which is just a big heap of dirt at the moment) and the compost bins.

There are bulbs coming up everywhere, but they're not all ones that we planted. The chaps who owned our house previously seem to have scattered them haphazardly. Every time we dig a new bed, we seem to find more!

I am loving the flower and kitty shots... I am also jealous that you have a garden to plant in. My parents have a two huge yards but my mother won't let me plant anything...

When I move into the city, I'll just have to get an urban gardening book.

Can I has your kitties?

Aw, that's sad she doesn't want you to plant flowers. Is it just that she prefers the orderliness (and relative low maintenance) of grass?

You can also do container gardening when you get your apartment. That's pretty satisfying too. As long as you have a couple of windowsills, you can grow quite a few things.

The kitties have no loyalty except to their stomachs, so I imagine you could easily bribe them away with a few fishy treats.

You're living my dream.

...well, except for the cats and the boyfriend.

You can probably also live without the late evening telecons, too.
