I wouldn't know it existed if it weren't for you! You put it on one of your writing playlists and it is inextricably linked with you now.
I think you would have to be "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana.
Man, now I want to do something like this. :) So cool!
BTW, your link for A Perfect Circle went to an Evanescence song
Spread the meme!
I think it's fixed now.
I love that song. I love that whole record. Nicole and I were friends, for a while; her best friend is my ex-boyfriend, W., so this is over ten years ago now.
FYI, I used to use the nickname, "Belfast," as an MSN handle for a while; I'd chosen that after the song of the same name on that record; "You lick her diamond and kiss her pearl but you can't get the Belfast out of the girl; this is how you throw her, you think you know her..." Shelby later ganked it as her stage name but had no idea what the song was or why I'd picked it or how important it was to me. She's not even Irish. Nor does she understand the symbolism of the song. *shrug*
I remember you mentioning that you knew her. And I love that album too. It really is timeless and classic. Like you!
I thought that might have been where the name came from, but I don't recall ever having a conversation with Shelby about it or how she chose the name.
Oo, mememe! It's funny, we've known each other for ages, but always peripherally. Anyway, I generally hear classic indoostrial when I read your journal. There is muscling and hating and the locking of targets, but then it always morphs into "Dead Stars," which makes me chortle. I was, however, intending on keeping that particular bad joke to myself.
Danaid gets "Personal Jesus," and Monifa's "Touch It," for how many hours we've spent flailing in gay clubs.
Miss AngelCityBlues gets "Skin Trade," and "Sea of Sin." It's her fault.
Oh, and non-sequeter: I just realized I never received that postcard you sent me long ago. Damnation! Stinking Post Office.
Ahaha! Dead Stars, I love it. I'm totally putting that on the playlist.
I associate Assemblage 23's "Disappoint" with you. I think it's because your humour has a certain quality that, to me, indicates having been through a truly terrible experience. This is not to say I'll be disappointed to find out I'm wrong. Just the feeling I get when I see your entries. You seem to appreciate being happy now in a way that someone who hadn't spent quite a while being unhappy wouldn't.
I'm peeved that you didn't receive my postcard. It was a very good postcard. I shall send you another one.
Now if they only played Ride on the radio here in the States I would be happy... If you told me you know who Catherine Wheel is (even if you don't like them but just know of them) we could be best friends for life ;-)
I don't remember hearing it on the radio in the 90s, do you?
Yes, I know Catherine Wheel - I think I have a dusty mixtape from a friend somewhere with a couple of their songs on it somewhere.
Ha ha! Not what I was expecting, but very apt! There is a Das Ich song that we used to dance to at Therapy that always makes me think of you.
Ooh! Was it "Destillat"? I think it was. We made up some words - "Give me my destillat, give me my alcohol".
I picked Patsy Cline because whenever I listen to her I think of driving across those endless bleak miles of Texas in your little car. :-)
Ooh! [BOUNCE BOUNCE] Gimme a chooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnn!!! =:o>
For you, it has to be the introductory music to "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", radio version.
aah, the one for mary is perfect, obviously, but that's an interesting choice you've made for me, is there any particular reason, or is it just because i, er, am a girl?
Well, no, it's because I think you might see yourself as "just" a girl even though you know you're not because you are a talented, intelligent person whose company is a delight...and who underrates herself severely.
I know we don't exactly trade brains often, but anything for me? ;)
Yes, indeedy. Something wordless but intricate and subtle.
(These are fun to read if you don't know the person... it's fun to imagine what they are like from your choice!)
I have no idea if you like the kind of music, but I think you'd be a 90's riot grrrrl song on my FL Playlist.
I didn't read the entirety of your comment before I selected your song.
There was really only one choice for you.
I am clearly much more HardCore(tm) in your mind, than I am in mine. Not that I'm complaining, it's righteous piece of noise. Unless the association is much more specific, in which case, not even I know why that song reminds you of me.
(Also the link goes to the Belastro's Ministry song)
Link is fixed!
I have this image of you in my mind, location unknown, dancing to that song, so it's a very specific assocation.
