Arboreal kittens [20100106|12:31]

As it's presently -2°C and snowing outside, I thought it best to open my 2010 posting with pictures of a kitten worshipping the sun a day or two ago.

Arboreal Cat Is Arboreal

Both kittens show strong arboreal tendencies. Sputnik, pictured here, is much more adept at it, being lighter and more agile. However, ever since he fell into a hot bath, which probably burned him a bit, poor thing, he has been afraid of water. He therefore approaches the pond with great caution. Telstar, on the other hand, is aquatic as well as arboreal. He's a big fan of pond-skating, which he's had ample opportunity to indulge in since the pond has been frozen since early December. He never seems to get any better at it, thereby demonstrating that practice doesn't make perfect.

Of course! Need a bit of advance warning so can put sheets on the bed in the spare room, but just about any time is fine.

Kitties are kayute! It seems they have found their natural habitat outdoors.

Btw: it is snowing here now, with vengence. We are having about 3 inches daily, fuelled by a perma-blizzard. I should never complain about relative distributions of weather.

Only in the nice weather. At the moment they like being outside for about 15 minutes and then they come back howling to be let into the warmth & dryness.

Cambridge has been short-changed on snow this round. We only have a couple of inches on the ground.

Apparently Dante's natural habitat in the winter is sprawled in front of the gas log fire with his belly showing.

Ah, but he is older and wiser than these two. They have much to learn about proper cat behaviour.
