Mad Scientess Jane Expat
You know when you're feeling Eeyorish and unsure that anything you do is worthwhile and your ennui threatens to overwhelm? I was at that point this morning.
Then I gave my outreach lecture ("Could Saturn's moons support life?") to 30 Year 11 students about to start their A levels in physics, none of whom were white, half of whom were female and all of whom were quite unbelievably hip. They were engaged throughout, answered my questions and were actually heard to say afterward, "That was SO cool."
If you'll excuse me, I have to go bask in a sense of accomplishment. Later, I may pepper myself with gold stars.
