The Saturn After Cassini book symposium started yesterday. This morning, it opened with a discussion of Saturn's origins, starting with the initial formation of the solar system. The solar system's age has been exhaustively confirmed as 4.567 Ga (that's gigayears). Our speaker pointed out that he once attended a conference entirely dedicated to the determination of this number. Somebody responded with, "Are you sure that isn't just your PIN number?"
I regret to report that everybody laughed. Including me. Note to self: get out more.
