Pere Lachaise [20080219|22:56]

From left to right: Chopin's muse, the tiled dome of mausoleum and what I can only assume is a dementor. All in Pere Lachaise cemetery, Paris.

Under the cut lies Oscar Wilde's monument's much-kissed avoirdupois, which you may notice is, er, lacking in a certain quarter.

I don't know about you, but this makes me wonder what the people who stole Wilde's joy did with it. Do you offer it up on the black market? Auction it on eBay? Grind it down and sell it as an aphrodisiac powder? I imagine he would have liked that.

Gorgeous. Could the third simply be a mourner?

I think it's meant to be, yes, but instead it gives the impression of "I'm gonna climb in there and gnaw on your bones". Yikes.

Holy hell, I need to go there. Of course, I say that everytime someone does and then shares pictures. *sigh*

(Yes, yes. London first.)

Lovely shots.

A day trip from London to Paris on the Eurostar, while it would be tiring, is not an unfeasibly expensive option. It only takes two hours, and unlike the airport, you don't have to get to St Pancras/Gare du Nord eleventeen hours before departure.

Thank you.
