it's such a good way of staying warm and snuggly!
[i can only do it with my superhero boots, though, and only when i'm feeling really brave...!]
It is, I noticed! The heat in our building is currently broken, so I'm noticing a distinct difference in the warmth of my feet with this jeans-boots scheme.
I wear legwarmers under my pants over here, sometimes tucked in the boots sometimes over but the pants cover my 80s shame.
Oh, don't worry. We see a lot of that where I live now.
Down in South Riverside County. Just make sure you have a huge ass and that your jeans look like something is trying to escape from them.
Ahaha. Here, I think you're only allowed to do it if you're below a UK size 8 (US size 4). I'm right on the borderline!
rotflmao dear god I didn't realise there was a size guideline!!!
Actually, those boots were made for hip-swinging slinkin'
There's something about it that just feels so right, though (and with freezing cold puddles and icky city dirt, it is a practical way of preserving warmth of feet/state of pant legs). Plus they're not Uggs so you win. ;)
You look so cute and snug and it's totally making me miss dressing up for London's winter nights.
Oho. I bet you're not missing the 5 hours of daylight though. (I still haven't got used to that!)
Shame? Never in a shot that convolves three consecutive LJ interests!
You know, I could spend hours pondering which of the three that is, but I think I'll just enjoy reading them and assume it's somewhere in the esses.
Rolling thing? As in rolling the trousers up to the tops of the boots?
I'm half-tempted to take you off my friends list now. If it wasn't for the fact I did the same thing with my combat boots in 1989 (and until maybe 1995), I wouldn't be able to forgive you.
Ok, if you can keep it secret, I think it's a totally hot look...
I should be shot...
...with a gun that fires beautiful Kurt Geiger boots okthxbai.
Tee hee. I have been enjoying the return of skinny legs and tall boots, actually, and have two pairs of cropped trousers for exactly this reason. I can't just tuck regular jeans in, as I can't stand the bunching 'round my ankle whilst tucked into boots.
But, since I hate pants, I don't rock this look terribly often. For truly warm and snuggly without being constrictive, I prefer skirts with leggings, legwarmers, AND boots. But who knows if the Oly-style layering thing is acceptable on the streets of London. I just know it's cost-effective as my winter wardrobe is exactly the same as my summer, just with different numbers of layers.
you fashion whore!
If it makes you feel any better, my friend Liz has been tucking her jeans into her boots since she saw Kate Moss do it. I think as long as you don't wear stupid looking bleached out in the ass jeans, and the boots are suitably hot, it's a good look.
I concur with the above remark that at least they're not Ugg boots. The friggin' mukluks w/ jeans thing has well worn out its welcome round these parts.
I don't do skinny jeans, so I can resist forever. ;)
Now that is one look I can promise no one will ever see me wearing. I don't own Ugg boots (or any lookalikes) and I never will. They give you cankles. I can't stand cankles.
Haha, I did it again today. The downward spiral, I am on it.
