During our island tour of the coast of Croatia, we stopped briefly in the tiny harbor of Sipan. While everyone packed onto benches out of the blazing sun and sipped beer, I snuck off to capture this panorama. (Click for bigness.)

thank you for capturing and sharing it. somehow, it doesn't look real to me; i think it might be the hills dotted improbably in the water that cause that feeling in me. either that or it just looks too good to be true.

It does seem that way! I had that feeling for a lot of the time I was there, especially when standing on the rocks looking down into the impossibly clear water.

Dalmatian Islands

I have a buddy on Guemes Is. in Skagit Co. here in the Sound. He's from a fishing family that left Croatia two or three generations back and settled in Anacortes. There's still a community up there. This picture reminds me a lot of the islands out here. Maybe that's why they settled here.
