I think I'm still in shock. [20060608|22:31]

You know, it's bad enough when you have to end a perfectly nice day by witnessing a guy get punched in the face and fall unconscious on the pavement while his attacker walks away.

But it's even worse when, after the guy receives treatment from a bunch of firemen who luckily drove past, some woman* comes by, takes a picture of his bashed, bleeding countenance with her mobile phone and strolls off laughing while sending it to all her friends.

*See how I didn't call her by any of the unflattering words that instantly sprang to mind? Can you feel my restraint? Can you?

The list of names is too long! :-P Try as I might, I couldn't help fretting over this for far too long yesterday.

*deep frown* What a rotten, horrible person(s). Both the puncher, and the @#@$% ghoul that took the photo.

Yeah. The puncher was pretty cowardly, and I got the feeling the recipient was far from angelic himself, but the person who took the photo struck me as exceptionally callous.

Shit. Any idea why the attacker went after him? Was it a mugging?

It was a bar fight. I talked to the firemen after hanging around for about fifteen minutes. They had asked me to wait to make a witness statement. Since the police were taking forever, the guy eventually insisted on standing up and the firemen ascertained that he and the person who punch him knew each other, they told me I could leave, as it was unlikely he'd be pressing charges.

Or Chelsea. Or Millwall. Damn, I think if I keep listing teams with a history of violent fans I'm going to get more depressed.

I think I'd have been hard-pressed not to scream at her.

And yes. Amazing restraint there.

::::::hugs:::::: City life can be completely horrible some times.

Yeah. It sucked to watch the number of people who hustled away trying to pretend they didn't see anything, to avoid getting involved. I mean, I understand the instinct for self-protection but dude. There's a guy lying bleeding and unconscious on the ground. Calling for help would not go amiss.

I think, often, everyone thinks someone else is going to handle it. And they don't want to jump in and get involved if they haven't seen much or don't know what's just gone on.

I'm glad the firemen were there.

I don't think you're doing her any favors by having restraint. Sure, you might have the moral high hand but do you really want that?
