It's a bird, squatting over it's fabulously colored nest. right?

just kidding, it's a vagina! no?

Well then, it is a beautiful abstract luscious thing.

I hate it when people beat me to the vagina jokes.

Clearly my friends list is full of smut-brained heathens who were raised by wolves.

And I like it like that. OH YEAH!

It is a strange and mysterious creature. Due to its evasive and skittish nature, sighting like this one are rare.

THAT IS AWESOME. The first thing it made me think of was a frilled lizard, then a deep-sea eel kind of thing, but now all I see is a glorious hawk sitting on the edge of her nest, protecting her two chicks.

The hawk is what I saw, too: fierce and alert.

I didn't think of that! The veiny patterns on the leaves contribute to the ink-splash effect, don't they.

The colours are incredible. And for knowing it's a flower, I too really see a fierce bird protecting the nest. (wish you could see me now w/ my nose 2.5" from the screen, angling for a better look)

The image was lightly photoshopped to crop and tweak the colors a bit for web display, and I put a mostly-transparent gradient filter over it to bring out the center of the image, but otherwise it's natural.

Also, I can picture you doing that. Hee.

It reminds me of something...can't think of what...humm...on the tip of my tongue... ;)

Seriously, good picture, and it does look like a bird.

It's on the tip of your tongue and you're still able to type without making errors? Wow! ;-D

Thank you. Orchids are bizarre. I suspect them of not always using their powers for good.

With the beautiful neon glow of the outer structure, it takes a moment for the subtler sense of the negative space to pull you in...
