see, THIS makes me feel like my vote counted.
It's been a while, hasn't it.
I actually figured Prop 73 would pass, which is part of why I'm so jubilant that it didn't.
I looked up the special election results for Texas.
My goodness, 16-17% is a truly abysmal voter turnout. I thought California was bad with around 45%. Why is it so low?
Mrs. Bela rocks. Of course, we knew that already, but it's worth reaffirming.
LA Times says: pwnt
100% of precincts reporting now, so I think that's a definitive 'pwnt'. Also, when I was out voting yesterday I remembered my longing for the ability to vote 'fuck no'. Alas, this has not yet been implemented.
I love the Governator quotes.
"The people of California are sick and tired of all the fighting, and they are sick and tired of all the negative TV ads," he told supporters at the Beverly Hilton. He did not concede, saying instead that "in a couple of days the victories or the losses will be behind us."
We're also sick and tired of you spending $250 million on this crap while simultaneously telling us the state is fucking broke. Oh, and. They were all losses
for you, buddy.
I would have voted "fuck no" on Prop 73 if I could have.
This is a very special day.
I'm a little sad that Guy Fawkes' Night is over, because I'm in the mood to set a very special fire in honor of today. I suppose I could pop over to France.
yay....for voting. nothing to laugh at! minimal power in collective sound and movement.
