The western Scottish highlands [20050315|13:21]

Marco and I took a whirlwind trip to the Scottish highlands with two friends last weekend. I've distilled the photos, mostly taken in the area around Glen Affric and Cannich, where we were staying. The left gallery has 15 images from Saturday, the right 14 images from Sunday. I would write more, but I need to pack for Amsterdam.

Scotland is so beautiful. But I think I'm more jealous about Amsterdam :(

I'm more of a city girl myself most of the time.

Hey, did you ever receive my postcard?

I think you had better take a second look at this photo. I increased the contrast a little and look what appeared.

Brrr. Scotland. I liked the contrasts on the snapped tree trunk photo, but you can't beat a sheep warning sign.

They also had "elderly people" warning signs, with a little person bent over a cane and another person clinging to his/her arm. I didn't get a shot of one of those beauties, though.

Elderly warning signs? As seen on When Elders Attack--the Scottish Highland version?
I like it.

Those are gorgeous. You'll leave these up for a while so we might trip back & peek in the future?

(...and did you risk just one finger, or the whole hand?) Brrr...

I don't usually take stuff down. A few of my oldest entries (2001-2002) have broken picture links, but that's because the space on the server I used to use to host images was abruptly taken away. I'm glad LJ has a 100 MB paid user limit!

(Just a finger.)

Wowza. Nice. I like the snapped tree as well. And the falls. And... the only a model comment won the icon. =)

Heh. At the B&B, they kept ducks and chickens - fresh-scrambled duck eggs, mmm. But every time I saw a chicken toddle past a window, I couldn't help thinking of Chicken Run.

Bunty: "Where are you from, Mr. Rhodes?"
Rocky: "Oh, just a little place I like to call the land of the free, the home of the brave."
Mac, the nerdy engineer chicken: "SCOTLAND!"
