Disorder #3

Autism.

Oliver Sacks describes the heartbreaking case of a pair of twins who spent their waking hours locked in communion through complex patterns of integers. They took a particular pleasure in the exchange of primes: the longer, the better. Eventually they were separated and lost their instinctive mathematical abilities, though they were able to conduct their lives in a semblance of normalcy.
