Last night was just about perfect. On the bus, I shamelessly eavesdropped on a mobile phone conversation in which the woman on my end earnestly tried to convince the woman on the other not to leave her husband for some other man. When I arrived at Trafalgar Square, I couldn't resist getting out my camera. I met imyril and Ju (helpful_mammal) at The Albannach for whiskies. I tried the Aberlour a'bunadh and discovered that chickenfeet2003's description was spot-on. Only a peaty Islay malt could have followed it, so I went with a perennial favorite, Laphroaig.
We came dangerously close to losing the entire evening to the whisky so we had to dash around the corner to the ICA to watch Mirrormask. It was light-hearted and oh so very English. Visually it stroked my brainmeats in all the right ways. When it was over, we bounced over to a pub for a quick pint about two minutes before last orders.
I'm still smiling.
