Day 338/365: Can haz bed?

Today I went through a three-hour induction, rushed to a meeting with a new academic, bolted my lunch, rushed to two back-to-back hour-long meetings with high muckety-muck Members of the Professoriate, rushed to my desk to spend 45 minutes frantically reviewing something for someone who needs it tomorrow, dashed to the train, picked up Keiki, dashed home, stuffed some peanut butter toast and biscuits down him (supper of champions), and made it to the school in time for Humhumu's nativity play. Humuhumu was a sheep, along with the rest of her year. They were adorable. During the performance, Keiki's primary comment, made in a penetrating whisper and with his hands over his ears, was, "It's too noisy." Thanks, child. Afterwards, I got the kids home and fed and calmed down enough to go to sleep.

In the middle of all that, I managed to help someone meet a 4 PM deadline.

Only two more days of single-parenting to get through. Herb tea and bed, ahoy.
