I don't have the energy to put together a post about the Sun exhibition, so instead, please have a friendly reminder that the best and cheapest way to see London (particularly Oxford Street at mid-day) is from the front seats on the top deck of a double-decker bus. It will cost you all of £1.50 and you can ride as many different buses as you want in an hour. This post has been endorsed by an enthusiastic six-year-old.

I concur! Years and years ago, I spent a week in February visiting my friend in Exeter where she was doing a year abroad. My flight home out of London was verrrry early in the morning, so I decided to take the train to London the day *before* my flight, and spend the day playing tourist in London.

I bought a ticket for one of the jump-on-jump off all day tours and rode around all the landmarks! The only downside was that my camera died - after having worked the whole trip - so I couldn't take any photos - but I bought scads of postcards of all the places I saw on the tour and that was just as good :D

You chose an excellent way to spend your last day in the UK. The postcards make excellent memorabilia as well - they're getting harder to find these days.

Oxford Street looks pretty empty!

Heh, this is not the fashionable end. We were a fair way from Oxford Circus at this point in the journey!

Near Tottenham Court Road tube station, right? It looks awfully familiar.
