Sputnik, Telstar's brother, in 2012
Sputnik, lolling on a blue blanket, with his head upside down and one yellow eye showing.

Regular readers may remember that Telstar used to have a brother. He was killed by a car when we were still living in Cambridge. I made my last Caturday post featuring Sputnik on 10 March 2012.

He was a scrappier, lankier, grumpier character than Telstar, but no less loved. I still miss him.

That’s a beautiful picture. Sorry for your loss...the sadness lessens but never entirely goes away. What a nice cat.

Thank you. Yes, he was a treasure. And he had a good life, short though it was.

Thank you. Yes, he was. Also an unusually smart cat, even by feline standards.

Aw, thank you. It's good to know others remember him fondly too. :)

Aw, Sputnik was beautiful. I had a ginger kitty when I was in Year 12. He was killed by a car on his first birthday :( That's why my cats are now indoor cats (plus, I live near a very big park with lots of wildlife and I don't really trust them outdoors).

Objectively speaking, Telstar was the looker out of the two of them. Sputnik was the brains of their operation. I'm glad other people think he was beautiful as well. I do, but I'm biased. ;)

I'm sorry your ginger kitty was killed so young.

Well, I think nearly all cats are beautiful.

My ginger kitty was smart. We didn't have kitty litter in the house and he worked out that someone would get up in the middle of the night and let him out if he ran up and down the piano keys. The first time I heard that in the middle of the night I got so freaked out!

Thank you. He had beautiful eyes. Quite a lot going on between the ears, too.
