Westminster flags lowered for Jo Cox

I took this photo last week, after MP Jo Cox was assassinated. I want to make it very clear, for what I hope are obvious reasons this morning, that this photo is about her death.

In the hope that others could also use the distraction of an Unscientific Poll:

Poll #2047908 Telecon Unmute Bingo

Whilst on a work-related telecon, I have heard the following “participant unintentionally unmuted” actions

sneezing
3(10.7%)
coughing
3(10.7%)
burping
1(3.6%)
farting
2(7.1%)
swearing
2(7.1%)
typing
5(17.9%)
boiling a kettle
2(7.1%)
attempting to dial another number
2(7.1%)
conducting a separate phone call on a different device
3(10.7%)
deriding the person currently speaking
2(7.1%)
deriding the chairperson
1(3.6%)
flushing the toilet
2(7.1%)

I can escalate this:

Very sad about the outcome, for the people who voted remain. I hope for some miracle.

There is this, which has gained an astounding number of signatures very quickly: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215

But I don't think most people have the stomach for a second referendum on the same subject. The campaigning for this one has been frankly appalling.

I thought about you after the news came in about Brexit, which I was really heartbroken about.

I know it has been absolute ages and ages since I've been on LJ, but I came to log in and see if everything was okay for you at least. I know it is not okay for the country but I am glad (I hope!) that your immigration is all safe and sound and everything is good.

Thanks for thinking of me, and for expressing your concern. Everything is OK for me in terms of my immediate situation (I'm a UK citizen now). But I was devastated by the referendum result. I'm still pretty upset. I've been working through that in locked posts and to a certain extent on Twitter and FB, as well as through conversations with my partner. It's going to take a while to get over the extreme and unexpected amount of pain it caused.
