[Telstar stretching on the bed, reaching one paw toward the camera]

Whenever I know I have a telecon coming up that's going to last more than an hour, I try to ensure that I have five minutes beforehand to use the toilet and make a cup of tea (er, not simultaneously). Sometimes, though, time constraints force me to choose. Hence, today's unscientific poll!

Poll #2039339 Essential telecon preparation

Which is worse?

Long telecon with full bladder
Long telecon without tea

Are you me ...?
(The sad thing is that if I make the tea, it still means a full bladder by the end of the conference even if I started with an empty one XD)

You remind me. I recently had the traumatic experience of very nearly dropping someone else's young child. The child was fine. I was in tears. The kindly mother offered me a cup of tea to make me feel better.

It was one of those moments where I realized I will never be English. A cup of a tea does not make me feel better. (Unless I'm cold.)

One of things I really enjoy thinking about is that, regardless of where we were born/ grew up, you drink tea like a Brit and I drink coffee like an American. We're living in the right countries.

Am I the only one who takes advantage of the fact that telecon means you don't have to be sitting at a table the whole time? I do it on my iPad and wander freely about the cabin. If I need something to drink, I just go get it and bring my iPad with me. I do draw the line at peeing, though, unless it's someone I know really, really well.
