[the weather today is |i got buff arms, dude]

I spent today using a powerful vibrating object to prime smooth surfaces.

Sadly, this translates rather unsexily into "sanding down all the woodwork in the stairwell, landing and hallway".

An ungodly amount of gloss painting awaits me tomorrow.

In marginally more exciting news, I wrote a character study of The Observer.

Nope. Spent 10 hours today painting. The fumes gave me a massive headache on top of the muscle ache from yesterday. Feh.

Oh, the agony of refinishing floors...my sympathy. Worth it when done but oh the chore to get there. When I redid the living room in my house in Seattle, I ended up pulling an all-nighter because it was the only way I could manage enough time to get three coats down without having to sand again in between.

Good luck!

Hahaha, the floors. We decided to recarpet rather than sand and finish the front hallway. The sanding was all the above-the-floor woodwork (doors, door frames, skirting boards, picture rails, bannisters). There is way more of it than I ever perceived initially.

Thanks!

Aw c'mon! (said like Bruce the shark from nemo)

Power tools are virile! And having a garage full of stuff is awesome!

Garage? Clearly you're working from the American notion of the amount of space that constitutes a "house". :P We have a "cupboard under the stairs" for our power tools.

[NODS] That is correct. The Cupboard Under The StairsTM is the officially recognised and sanctioned location for power tools and spare lightbulbs in all British homes. Including the ones that don't have any stairs. =:o}

Re: Aw c'mon! (said like Bruce the shark from nemo)

I think they just get categorized under "spare light bulbs".
